One Month in Thailand in Four Minutes

Back in August I headed off on an exciting three month adventure, determined to take lots of photos and videos clips with my new camera and GoPro to document this once-in-a-lifetime trip!

Now I am nicely settled in back home I'm taking the time to sort through these and have made my first YouTube video featuring my favourite bits of footage from my first month in Thailand.

I travelled with six other girls through a company called Real Gap and we had the most incredible time swimming with elephants, trekking in the jungle, visiting waterfalls, learning about Buddhism in beautiful temples and snorkeling among many other things!

If you're interested in what we got up to in our month visiting Bangkok, Sangklaburi, Kanchanaburi, Koh Phangan, Koh Nangyuan and Ang Thong Marine Park then check out the video below.

I'm planning to make more videos from my travels soon so if you enjoyed then watch this space!

Thanks for reading and watching!

Exploring Barcelona // A Photo Diary

Back in June my mum and I took a three day trip to the beautifully unique city of Barcelona in Spain. We were extremely lucky and had the most gorgeous weather, which was perfect for exploring as much as possible in the day and eating tapas and drinking sangria in the evenings.

I'm Back! (In England and the Blogging World!)

So, I think this is possibly my third post declaring my determination to work on this blog more! Lets hope it's also the final one! Only a few short blog posts ago I was adamant that now I had finished university and I was heading off on my travels again that I was going to give this blog a new lease of life; documenting my time travelling and making it something I was proud of.

Unfortunately the crazy, hectic, exhausting and incredibly fun lifestyle of travelling kind of got in the way.

A Weekend in Paris // A Photo Diary

If there's any city which deserves a photo diary it's Paris. With its iconic landmarks, beautiful architecture and cute cafés and bistros, every inch of it is picture perfect.

Back in May my boyfriend and I took a trip to the elegant, romantic, bohemian city that is Paris. We stayed in Montparnasse and spent our weekend drinking coffee, eating pastries and macaroons, visiting the famous landmarks and buildings including the Jardin du Luxembourg, Eiffel Tour, Notre Dame and the Louvre, as well as doing a hell of a lot of walking about.

I'm planning on writing a couple of more detailed posts of what we did in our weekend in Paris, but for now I wanted to share some of my favourite photographs from our time in this beautiful city.

I'm going to Thailand!

As I am writing this I am sat in bed in my hotel room at Heathrow airport, eating Domino's and watching telly. This is because early tomorrow morning I am catching a flight to Bangkok, Thailand!!!

I have been planning this trip for about a year and now it's finally here I can't quite believe it. I'll be in Bangkok for a couple of days before travelling through Thailand on a month long group tour. After that month I'll be spending all of September volunteering teaching kids English in some smalls fishing and farming villages on Koh Samui, and following that I'll be heading back to my favourite country: Australia!

I expect I'll be super busy while I'm travelling, doing and seeing as much as possible, so I won't be blogging about my trip until I get back home in November. However, I might try and do a couple of updates with a few photos while I'm out there if I can find some good Internet!  And I am also ridiculously behind in writing posts about my previous trips (despite promising myself I'd write more when I'd finished uni, life just keeps getting in the way!) so I have a couple of posts about Italy,  Paris and Barcelona which I've written recently scheduled to go up while I'm away. (Maybe one day I'll get the hang of consistently doing this blogging thing.)

I'm super super super excited right now to get exploring a whole new country I've never been to before, do I just wanted to post a little update on my blog. Will hopefully post another little update when I get chance!

Also, if anyone is reading this and happens to have been to Thailand before, please comment with some tips of things to do/see/try!!

Thanks for reading!

Volunteering at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary // A Photo Diary

One of the most memorable and incredible experiences I have had whilst travelling was spending some time volunteering at a koala sanctuary near Brisbane when I was in Australia.

I spent one month living in Brisbane and working at the worlds first and largest koala sanctuary; Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. As cliché as this sounds it was one of those travel moments which creates memories you know you will treasure for a lifetime and which changes your outlook on life.

Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk // Sydney, Australia // A Photo Diary

During my time in Sydney I did the Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk; a cliff top walk in the suburbs of Sydney which offers stunning views and takes you to five of Sydney's beautiful beaches.

The walk takes you to Coogee, Clovelly, Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi beaches, giving you the chance to chill out and have a swim in the sea after each section of the walk.

The beaches are one of favourite places to visit in Sydney  (and I listed the walk in my Ten Things to Do In Sydney post here)  so I thought I would share some of my favourite photos from it!

Hunter Valley Wine Tour, Australia // A Photo Diary

During my first week in Sydney, I went on a wine tasting day trip to the Hunter Valley Region. The Hunter Valley is a beautiful area full of vineyards and is also Australia's oldest wine growing region. We had a scenic drive from Sydney to our first winery through stunning bushland and countryside, which seemed even more beautiful and it was sunniest, most gorgeous day we'd had since arriving in Australia. Our tour guide was funny and chatty, telling us interesting facts about Australian history as we drove along, and he stopped the mini bus regulary to point out different Australian trees, plants and also some wildlife!

Australia Photo Diaries

Australia is, without a doubt, my favourite country that I have visited, and in a couple of months time I am lucky enough to be going back there for a third time. I will be revisiting a couple of my favourite places on the east coast, as well as going to some places I've never visited before, including Melbourne, Adelaide and Alice Springs.

Therefore, I thought it was fitting that my first posts now I have started up my blog should be about Australia!

Restarting My Blog!

So its been a long time since since I've written a proper blog post on here! Last summer I was determined to spend some time working on writing some really good posts for my blog. However, in September I started the third and final year of my English degree, and it became almost impossible to set aside time for writing for fun amongst all of the reading, essay writing and dissertation work I had to do for my course.
But now I have finished my degree and I am due to graduate in a months time I am going to work hard to keep updating my blog! It's something I really want to do, because not only do I enjoy writing, and want to make sure I keep writing now I've finished my degree, but it's also a great way for me to document my adventures so I can look back on them in years to come!
I also want to really focus my writing more specifically on travelling and exploring the world! When I first started this blog during my second year of university it was just a place to write for fun about a mismatch of things; travelling, walking, music, beauty, literature and life in general. But over the last year I have become more and more passionate about travelling the world and become really interested in photography and travel photography. Therefore, I really want to create a space where I can write about what I'm passionate about, share my photos and hopefully improve my writing and photography along the way! I think this will be a great way to remember all my travel and I hope that if anyone finds this blog then it will help inspire them to travel as well!
Since the last time I wrote a proper post on here I have travelled round Italy and visited Paris and Barcelona, and I have an exciting three month trip coming up in August! So I will have lots of exciting things to write about on here, so watch this space!
Thanks for reading!

Algarve, Portugal: A Photo Diary

Back in 2012 I visited the Algarve region in Portugal. We stayed in a lovely apartment right next to the beach and just a few minutes outside of the beautiful little town of Lagos. It was such a peaceful, gorgeous and relaxing place to visit, with little beach bars to sit and watch the boats sail past on the ocean. I'm dying to go back one day soon, so I thought I'd share with you a few of my favourite pictures from the holiday.
