2016: My Year in Numbers

Now that 2017 is upon us I can't help but look back on everything that happened in 2016, and I personally think it was my most incredible year yet. I have achieved and experienced so much in the past 12 months,  leaving me to go into the new year older, a little wiser and full of excited anticipation of what this next year will bring.

Here are a few numbers from my year which pretty much sum up what I got up to in 2016!

One Month in Thailand in Four Minutes

Back in August I headed off on an exciting three month adventure, determined to take lots of photos and videos clips with my new camera and GoPro to document this once-in-a-lifetime trip!

Now I am nicely settled in back home I'm taking the time to sort through these and have made my first YouTube video featuring my favourite bits of footage from my first month in Thailand.

I travelled with six other girls through a company called Real Gap and we had the most incredible time swimming with elephants, trekking in the jungle, visiting waterfalls, learning about Buddhism in beautiful temples and snorkeling among many other things!

If you're interested in what we got up to in our month visiting Bangkok, Sangklaburi, Kanchanaburi, Koh Phangan, Koh Nangyuan and Ang Thong Marine Park then check out the video below.

I'm planning to make more videos from my travels soon so if you enjoyed then watch this space!

Thanks for reading and watching!

Exploring Barcelona // A Photo Diary

Back in June my mum and I took a three day trip to the beautifully unique city of Barcelona in Spain. We were extremely lucky and had the most gorgeous weather, which was perfect for exploring as much as possible in the day and eating tapas and drinking sangria in the evenings.

I'm Back! (In England and the Blogging World!)

So, I think this is possibly my third post declaring my determination to work on this blog more! Lets hope it's also the final one! Only a few short blog posts ago I was adamant that now I had finished university and I was heading off on my travels again that I was going to give this blog a new lease of life; documenting my time travelling and making it something I was proud of.

Unfortunately the crazy, hectic, exhausting and incredibly fun lifestyle of travelling kind of got in the way.

A Weekend in Paris // A Photo Diary

If there's any city which deserves a photo diary it's Paris. With its iconic landmarks, beautiful architecture and cute cafés and bistros, every inch of it is picture perfect.

Back in May my boyfriend and I took a trip to the elegant, romantic, bohemian city that is Paris. We stayed in Montparnasse and spent our weekend drinking coffee, eating pastries and macaroons, visiting the famous landmarks and buildings including the Jardin du Luxembourg, Eiffel Tour, Notre Dame and the Louvre, as well as doing a hell of a lot of walking about.

I'm planning on writing a couple of more detailed posts of what we did in our weekend in Paris, but for now I wanted to share some of my favourite photographs from our time in this beautiful city.

I'm going to Thailand!

As I am writing this I am sat in bed in my hotel room at Heathrow airport, eating Domino's and watching telly. This is because early tomorrow morning I am catching a flight to Bangkok, Thailand!!!

I have been planning this trip for about a year and now it's finally here I can't quite believe it. I'll be in Bangkok for a couple of days before travelling through Thailand on a month long group tour. After that month I'll be spending all of September volunteering teaching kids English in some smalls fishing and farming villages on Koh Samui, and following that I'll be heading back to my favourite country: Australia!

I expect I'll be super busy while I'm travelling, doing and seeing as much as possible, so I won't be blogging about my trip until I get back home in November. However, I might try and do a couple of updates with a few photos while I'm out there if I can find some good Internet!  And I am also ridiculously behind in writing posts about my previous trips (despite promising myself I'd write more when I'd finished uni, life just keeps getting in the way!) so I have a couple of posts about Italy,  Paris and Barcelona which I've written recently scheduled to go up while I'm away. (Maybe one day I'll get the hang of consistently doing this blogging thing.)

I'm super super super excited right now to get exploring a whole new country I've never been to before, do I just wanted to post a little update on my blog. Will hopefully post another little update when I get chance!

Also, if anyone is reading this and happens to have been to Thailand before, please comment with some tips of things to do/see/try!!

Thanks for reading!

Volunteering at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary // A Photo Diary

One of the most memorable and incredible experiences I have had whilst travelling was spending some time volunteering at a koala sanctuary near Brisbane when I was in Australia.

I spent one month living in Brisbane and working at the worlds first and largest koala sanctuary; Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. As cliché as this sounds it was one of those travel moments which creates memories you know you will treasure for a lifetime and which changes your outlook on life.
