One Week in Exmoor National Park

Last week I headed off on holiday with my parents and our gorgeous border collie, Cassie. It was our first family holiday in years so I was really looking forward to it. We'd decided to go to an area of the UK we'd never visited before, Exmoor National Park!

For anyone who doesn't know Exmoor is a stunning area of moorland, woodland and coastline which is located in South West England. The National Park spans across areas of both Somerset and Devon and is well known for its breathtaking and dramatic views. It is also famous for its amazing wildlife including deer and wild Exmoor ponies (I will be doing a whole post about the ponies shortly!)

We stayed in a remote holiday cottage near the village of Porlock, which had amazing views over Porlock Beach and the Exmoor coastline. On sunny days we could also see right across the sea to Wales! Just short walk through the steep woodland below our cottage (or a five minute drive if we were feeling lazy) and we reached Porlock Weir, a beautiful and chilled out little village with its own pebble beach and tiny harbour.

I'm going to be posting some more specific blog posts on where we went and what we did during our stay, so for now I'm just going to share some of my favourite pictures from the gorgeous area where we we staying, including Porlock Weir and the beautiful views from our cottage.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Exmoor, I was amazed by how stunningly beautiful it was everywhere we went. We did lots of amazing things in the week we were there but they were also so many places we didn't get round to going to so we're definitely planning on returning sometime in the near future!

Thanks for reading!
